Requisition Summary

PACCAR Parts is seeking a Logistics Planner to optimize and execute transportation planning for all supplier inbound activity destined for PACCAR Parts Distribution Centers (PDC) across North America. This key role monitors the performance of the transportation plans in order to ensure accuracy and also manages inbound freight from a group of suppliers in an effort to maintain base data accuracy within the Transportation System. 


The Logistics Planner also configures and optimizes transportation planning exceptions in the system as well as exceptions identified at the plant and suppliers. This person will work closely with Material personnel and PDC personnel in order to ensure that consistent and reliable delivery schedules are maintained. The position will collaborate with Operations and Corporate Logistics to continuously monitor carriers’ cost and service.  The Logistics Planner will also continuously analyze processes for areas of improvement.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

•    Routes inbound freight for suppliers.
•    Monitors plan accuracy in an effort to identify configuration issues.
•    Enhances planning workflow by analyzing & developing effective routing procedures.
•    Monitors and approves carrier invoices in Cass.
•    Establishes and maintains a strong working relationship with the supplier base in effort to maintain supplier base data accuracy.
•    Trains suppliers on the functions within the PACCAR Transportation System interface to promote and monitor supplier compliance.
•    Establishes and maintains a strong collaborative working relationship with PDCs and Material personnel in order to provide accurate transportation plans.
•    Serves as initial point of contact for transportation plan updates and exception management.
•    Identifies continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain network and contributes to overall Logistics Continuous Improvement goals.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s Degree required
•    1 to 3 years of Transportation or Materials experience
