Division Information

PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector

Requisition Summary

The Product Management internship will participate in product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with information technology, engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer goals are met. 

Communicate with all areas of the company, as well as manage multiple suppliers and partners. Work closely with multiple business, engineering, operations, and finance teams to research, conceive, design, develop and deliver products that create value for customers and grow business opportunities for PACCAR.  Creates business plans for new products and services that address the needs of PACCAR’s dealers, customers and partners. Serve as the internal and external evangelist for product offerings, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex business problems to create an effective business plan and product/service strategy
  • Design compelling products and services meeting customers’ needs
  • Define product vision and strategy and create and maintain product and feature roadmaps
  • Manage product features and prioritization
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples
  • Work closely with user interface design, engineering, and operations to define detailed requirements and develop products
  • Develop and manage legal instruments such as Supplier Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements,Trademark and Patent applications
  • Develop and manage the execution of product marketing and launch plans
  • Measure and analyze product and feature performance for opportunities to innovate, improve customer experience and increase adoption
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required.  MBA in process preferred.
  • Demonstrated aptitude using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Visio; competency in MS Project. 
  • Knowledge of information technologies including, but not limited to, databases, application software, mobile platforms, cloud infrastructure and IT infrastructure hardware
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and multiple business units
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional team without formal authority
  • Ability to identify business problems, define use cases and requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical resources and senior leadership
  • Strong bias for action; ability to manage multiple priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of information technologies including, but not limited to, databases, application software, mobile platforms, cloud infrastructure and IT infrastructure hardware
  • Human Centered Design experience desired.
  • Familiarity with CAD programs and/or Visual Design packages such as Photoshop or Blender are a plus.

Education

  • Currently enrolled in an MBA program required
