General Accounting Manager Job

Requisition Summary

Responsible for managing general accounting functions and conducting a wide scope of operational and financial related responsibilities. This position will manage a staff of 5, and activities associated with general accounting financial reporting to ensure control, accuracy, and integrity. Additionally, this position will perform and/or assist with internal control reviews and Sarbanes-Oxley documentation. The position will report to the Director of General Accounting.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• Manages General Accounting responsibilities, ensuring that Corporate, Division and local policies, procedures and internal controls are effective and operating.
• Directs the preparation of timely, accurate and meaningful financial information for month-end close within Corporate deadlines. This includes US, Canada and Mexico consolidated financial information.
• Ensures appropriate account balances through reconciliations and analysis.
• Ensures statutory reports are consolidated in a timely manner.
• Recruits and develops a well-qualified staff. Ensures staff members are properly trained for their positions.
• Maintains effective communication as a member of the management team.
• Prepare monthly Non-Parts revenue and cost forecast and resolves variance between forecast and actual results.
• Recommends and implements enhancements that improve productivity, internal control and cost reduction.
• Participate in the month-end closing process including journal entries, financial statement reviews and Corporate reporting requirements.
• Prepare and/or review account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness in a timely manner.
• Understand the relationship of operational and financial systems and develops reports in SAP, BFC, Excel, Access and SQL.
• Perform SOX testing as assigned.
• Support internal control reviews and external audit requests.
• Perform other duties and accounting functions as assigned.

Qualifications

• BS / BA in Accounting or Finance
• Master's Degree or CPA strongly preferred, but not required
• 8+ years of related experience, including supervisory experience preferred. 
• Excellent analytical capabilities and attention to detail with a “big picture” focus   
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects
• Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines and self-motivated
• Understanding of US GAAP
• SAP experience preferred
• Requires strong PC skills with Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint
• Must be able to travel periodically within the US and internationally

Salary Range: At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for our General Accounting Manager position is $102,700 - $160,700 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift and offers relocation assistance benefits. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
