PACCAR Parts

PACCAR Parts operates a network of parts distribution centers offering aftermarket support to Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF dealers and customers around the world. Aftermarket support includes customer call centers operating 24 hours a day throughout the year and technologically advanced systems to enhance inventory control and expedite order processing.

Requisition Summary

As an Engine Support Center Specialist, you will become an expert on PACCAR Engines, provide accurate and quick support to PACCAR Dealer Technicians, provide detailed data to all PACCAR divisions on emerging issues related to PACCAR Engines and After Treatment System, and act as the first warning team across all PACCAR Divisions.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Interpret Log file data, customer complaints, and technicians’ previous trouble shooting results to provide rapid and accurate technical and diagnostic support, using our internal case management tool SupportLink. Follow-up on repair progress to ensure customer’s truck is returned to service as quickly as possible. Escalate as appropriate complicated issues to Field Service Engineers, Advanced Diagnostic Engineering, Technical Document Specialists, Customer Service Managers, and Internal Management Team.  
  • Provide detailed documentation to appropriate division on product improvements. Identify gaps or inaccurate information. Report as appropriate customers concerns and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain all PACCAR Engine Certifications
  • Work with multiple divisions to certify and test new diagnostic tools or improvements to existing tools and support continuous improvement teams
  • Provide Software Support on engine applications that require special approvals, additional research or are regulated by government agencies. Provide instructions and updates to dealer technicians on these situations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proficient in French language a plus
  • 3 years of experience in vehicle and engine diagnostics or 5 years general technician experience
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams with comprehensive understanding of electrical theory and circuitry
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and produce high quality high volume output
  • Strong PC skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient typing ability
  • Understand complex electrical and mechanical systems with ability to diagnose inefficiencies in these systems
  • Strong customer service and negotiation skills
  • Strong team oriented behavior
  • Demonstrated mechanical and technical skills
  • Able to maintain technical certifications
  • Willingness to work in 24/7 environment with changing schedules and requirements
  • Knowledge of industry diagnostic tools and current EPA requirements including OBD (On Board Diagnostics)
