Division Information

PACCAR Parts operates a network of parts distribution centers offering aftermarket support to Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF dealers and customers around the world. Aftermarket support includes customer call centers operating 24 hours a day throughout the year and technologically advanced systems to enhance inventory control and expedite order processing.

Requisition Summary

The Associate Data Scientist provides standard and ad hoc reporting to the Marketing department, automates standard reporting using Snowflake, Python/R, and Tableau. The Associate Data Scientist also aids the Marketing Analytics Manager in developing advanced predictive analytics models. 

Although this position supports Marketing, they are part of the PPD Advanced Analytics team, a collaborative team who creates analytics solutions across PACCAR Parts. This team works on high-impact and high-visibility projects. Team members present their work to senior executives, helping shape not only PPD’s current business, but its long term analytics strategy. 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Serve as an expert on the Marketing department’s data sources
  • Develop and build reproducible & automated reports on Marketing KPIs
  • Provide accurate, relevant, and meaningful ad-hoc analysis to management to support strategic and tactical decision-making.
  • Lead the completion of the quarterly Supplier Scorecard
  • Able to capture business requirements and create custom Tableau dashboards for various stakeholders
  • Develop advanced analytics models; including creating, validating, analyzing and explaining the data used for model development.
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent general business acumen, with the ability to concisely and clearly communicate complex topics.
  • Able to work with stakeholders from the Marketing department to develop new analytics solutions, identify necessary data, and support analytics best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (quantitative field preferred)
  • 2-3 years of experience in an data analyst role required
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Access required
  • Knowledge of SQL desired
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language preferred (Python, R)
  • Experience with data visualization preferred (Tableau)
  • Six Sigma experience a plus
  • Must be a highly-motivated self-starter and self-directed learner with a creative mind, high attention to detail and a solution-oriented outlook
  • Ability to succeed in a multi-functional business environment and influence adoption of new ideas
