Requisition Summary

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for coordinating all quality improvement activities at the plant. This individual drives the identification and elimination of defects in the plant, making sustainable improvements in the areas of Production, Engineering, and Materials. This manager also supervises the Quality System Coordinator, Supplier Liaison and Line Inspection activities.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Ensure that quality improvements are successfully implemented and sustained.
  • Identify, prioritize, and communicate improvement opportunities to the Quality Manager and others
  • Develop and implement procedures to track problem resolution and communicate results
  • Coordinate follow-up and integration of action items across all responsible organizations, including Production, Engineering, and Materials
  • Review PQI audits and ensure product quality audits are properly performed.
  • Develop, monitor and address obstacles for improvement activities.
  • Support retention of ISO-9001 certification.
  • Ensure plant employees receive the necessary training in quality concepts and basic improvement techniques.
  • Effectively support other functions as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills / Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field required
  • Prefer Black Belt or Green Belt with experience in DMAIC, flow-enhancement and Kaizen methods
  • Prefer Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Manager
  • Prefer 3+ years’ experience in an engineering or quality role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to train others on improvement concepts
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Effective conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to drive change and get results
