Division Information

PACCAR Parts operates a network of parts distribution centers offering aftermarket support to Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF dealers and customers around the world. Aftermarket support includes customer call centers operating 24 hours a day throughout the year and technologically advanced systems to enhance inventory control and expedite order processing.

Requisition Summary

This position is responsible for working with PACCAR Parts suppliers to continuously improve aftermarket part packaging by enforcing internal policies and managing interdepartmental packaging optimization goals.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Make holistic packaging decisions including cross- department coordination with Customer Service, Materials, Purchasing, Product Marketing, Pricing and Operations for new product launches, product changes and conversions. Manage the Aftermarket Packaging Approval Process (APAP).
  • Work with distribution centers to identify suppliers needing improvements to their existing packaging that is failing or oversized. Utilize Six Sigma methodology to identify root cause and implement ideal packaging solutions that benefit PDC Operations and Customers by alleviating capacity constraints and improving quality/integrity. Monitor savings and key metrics for all changes.
  • Conduct regular visits to supplier sites to evaluate packaging decisions and work with packaging engineers to optimize product lines.  Develop and maintain a wide network of supplier packaging contacts. Host supplier contacts at PDCs to better understand the impact of packaging on capacity.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure proper packaging is maintained. Monitor Supplier performance and track trends for non-conforming packaging, update APAP program as needed.
  • Manage business and system enhancements to enforce packaging requirements including vendor compliance. Work with Operations Quality Manager for enhancements to the Aftermarket Supplier Guidelines that drive continuous improvement of the supply base. Serve as backup to Operations Quality Manager.


  • Bachelor Degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing & Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or related area. MBA / MS is a plus.
  • Experience with new product launches, including ordering quantities.  PDC Operations experience is a plus.
  • Packaging program development/management experience.  Strong negotiation skills.
  • Experience working with supply base. Inventory planning experience is a plus.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate project teams.
  • Trained LEAN/TDFSS Six Sigma Methodology. Certified Six Sigma Belt is a plus.
  • Experience with Packaging Evaluation and Criteria.
