Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington. 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and support complex server architectures that may include load balancing, server clustering VMWare, or other technologies that provide scalability and/or high availability.
  • Develop and drive strategy for adopting and deploying new technologies.
  • Proactively monitor the performance of and perform maintenance on Windows servers to ensure reliability and uptime.
  • Provide leadership and consulting on Windows servers and other operations problems across PACCAR’s distributed worldwide enterprise network.
  • Perform audit and compliance tasks as necessary.
  • Suggest and drive procurement activities related to hardware and software.
  • Develop and maintain architecture and technical standards and procedures.
  • Provide key input on OS image creation and updates.
  • Learn new networking and server technologies as they emerge.
  • Perform on-call and other duties as required.
  • Create and follow backup solutions for Disaster Recovery


  • 5 years experience in configuration, installation and maintenance of VMWare environment required.
  • 5 years experience in configuration, installation and maintenance Windows 2008/2012/2016 servers.
  • Knowledge of Veritas Backup Exec, VEEAM, and Dell\EMC Isilon technologies.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of Windows networking, Windows operating systems including web protocols (WINS, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, DFS, AD) and replication.
  • Self-starter with the ability to lead others as well as follow.
  • Ability to work with minimal or no supervision.
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations.
  • Hands-on networking architecture (Cisco, Proxies, Firewalls, Load Balancers, WAN Optimization)
  • Knowledge of Cloud Apps, Cloud technologies & ecosystems, AWS and Azure
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP applications and protocols, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, STP.
  • Experience with IPSEC and SSL based VPN equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of IP switched storage networks.
  • Experience with converged network LAN/NAS/SAN desired.
  • Recent experience leading a project delivering some aspect of segmentation on a large scale environment spanning both data center and wide area networks
  • Understanding of current and emerging wireless network technology in an enterprise setting.
  • Knowledge in security including authentication and encryption protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) and strong analytical abilities.
  • Cisco Certification Desired
  • Microsoft Certifications Desired
  • Availability to travel up to 25%.


Bachelor’s degree in technology or related field required.
