Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington. 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Programs state-of-the-art metal 3D printing machine using Mastercam and proprietary software tools.
  • Understands and operates 3D printing machine; reads and understands maintenance manuals and drawings.
  • Troubleshoots and maintains 3D printing equipment.
  • Prepares or modifies CAD drawings as necessary for producing prototypes.
  • Manages and coordinates requests for rapid prototypes, documenting labor and material costs, and shipping.
  • Observes established safety policies/procedures in daily work activity.
  • Maintains knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets for hazardous materials used on the job.

Qualifications

  • Five years’ experience with Mastercam programming
  • Familiar  with 3, 4, and 5-axis vertical CNC mill setup, operation, and tooling
  • Familiar with geometric dimensioning and tolerances
  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications and drawings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with metals, metallurgy, and plating
  • Ability to estimate time and materials; read and make mechanical drawing sketches to universal procedures
  • Basic computer skills required (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc)
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and imaginative according to the shifting demands of the different situations
  • Job is 80% active, 20% sedentary, with 98% indoors and 2% outdoors
  • Lift and carry 50 pounds, as well as, push and pull 125 pounds, maneuver heavier objects with a crane
  • May work at heights (>20 feet) and be able to bend, kneel and stoop

Education

Journeyman level machinist or AA degree in machining minimum, BS in engineering preferred
