Requisition Summary

This internship provides the opportunity to work at PACCAR’s Engine Test Laboratory (ETL) in Mount Vernon, Washington. Key responsibilities include performing powertrain testing in an engine dynamometer test cell to develop and validate engine and exhaust aftertreatment systems.

Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington. 
 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

 

·         Conduct performance, durability, and emissions testing of heavy-duty on-highway powertrain systems to support program goals of European and North American PACCAR divisions

·         Support PACCAR’s Advanced Technology organization by testing, evaluating, and validating new engine and aftertreatment hardware and software

·         Engineer and build tools to improve the quality and efficiency of powertrain testing, emissions measurement, and data processing in the ETL

 

 

 

Qualifications


• Knowledge of diesel engine and exhaust aftertreatment system operation and control systems
• Ability to work with ETL technician staff, fostering teamwork and employee development
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s student in engineering
