Requisition Summary

The PACCAR Technical Center is seeking candidates for a challenging and dynamic role in our engine test lab (ETL). The desired candidate will have extensive expertise in engine failure analysis, excellent communication skills, and proven leadership ability. This position involves both hands-on analysis of engine components and supervision of a team responsible for engine tear-down and reporting. It also requires regular reporting to a variety of audiences across the company, as well as formal presentations on specific symptoms and failure modes.

Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington. 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Heavy duty diesel engine failure analysis and root-cause determination.
  • Analysis record keeping, reporting, and presentation.
  • Supervision of technicians of technical staff.
  • Work flow evaluation and job prioritization.
  • Material logistics: inventory, packing, and shipping engines and engine components.
  • Regular reporting, presentations, and meetings with engineering staff, service managers, and manufacturing personnel.
  • Support technical publications such as service tool updates and technical bulletins.
  • Produce and track failure mode metrics.
  • Manage purchasing of fuel, urea, and other supplies.
  • Retrieval of design data as required (CAD, specifications, etc).

Qualifications

  • 5 years in engine failure analysis or related position.
  • 5 years’ experience in a supervising role.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Experience with CAD systems.
  • BSME or equivalent.

Education

BSME or equivalent required.
MSME preferred.
