Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Objectives    
•    Ensure that Project Execution Processes on assigned projects are aligned to the requirements of approved company processes.            
•    Coordinate with other PMs, across the powertrain and vehicle programs, to achieve consistent execution of projects.        
•    Oversee the internal financial reporting process to ensure consistency of reporting across all assigned projects.                
•    Ensures that future resource requirements are identified and filled in a timely manner.                
Responsibilities
•    Lead coordination of PACCAR Emissions Compliance Projects.
•    Responsible for the execution of all assigned projects, including budgeting and financial performance.
•    Consult with subject matter experts to establish detailed information needed for issues definition.            
•    Directs and manages project implementation from beginning to end.        
•    Develops project plans and associated communications documents in accordance with the approved processes and compliant with PACCAR Policies.
•    Manages risk across the entire project life cycle.
•    Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
•    Identifies project performance related deficiencies and ensures that any necessary corrective action is implemented.                 
•    Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifying potential problems, and devises contingency plans.
•    Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
•    Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team.
•    Manages internal and external stakeholders.                
•    Coordinates the internal support departments to ensure that assigned projects receive the required support.
•    Provides project related information for specialized corporate reporting (when applicable).             
•    Supervises the execution of all assigned projects.
•    Approves corrective actions for project non-performance or escalates through the Management chain when the non-performance is due to external factors. 

 

Qualifications

•    Minimum 5 years of heavy duty diesel engine design or manufacturing experience required – OBD or compliance experience preferred.
•    Should have a background in project management, five or more years of experience in program management preferred.
•    Able to communicate effectively across functional boundaries, as well as up and down the leadership chain.
•    Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
•    Must be organized and self-motivated, identifying and proactively addressing opportunities for program improvement.
•    Able to evaluate proposals using sound judgment and present recommendations.
•    Demonstrated ability to adapt to new environments and achieve objectives.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.
•    Six Sigma experience a plus.
•    Must be willing to travel.

 

Education

  • BS degree in related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Program Management Professional certification preferred.
