This position supports operations of 3D Printing Lab at the PACCAR Technical Center. Requires independent judgment under moderate supervision, attention to detail, and a meticulous focus on quality.  Duties include operation and maintenance of industrial 3D printers, processing prototypes, facilitating communication with customers, and managing inventories.

Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington. 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

•    Process  prototype requests and part models (CAD files)
•    Refine part requests with customers and prepare estimates
•    Set up and monitor 3D printers to produce prototype parts
•    Troubleshoots and maintains 3D Printers and associated equipment
•    Coordinates repairs and product support with suppliers as necessary
•    Clean, polish, and finish parts per prototype request
•    Ability to operate standard machine tools as needed 
•    Ability to operate welding equipment as needed 
•    Observes established safety policies/procedures in daily work activity 
•    Maintains knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets for hazardous chemicals used on the job


•    Experience with industrial 3D printers or similar automated machinery
•    Experience with CAD models
•    Familiar with plastics and plastic fabrication
•    Ability to understand and design mechanical assemblies
•    Ability to estimate time and materials; interpret engineering drawings  
•    Familiarity with machine tools, welding, and general fabrication desired
•    CNC knowledge and skills a plus
•    Basic computer skills required (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc)
•    Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and effective under shifting job priorities and compressed timelines
•    Willingness to work alternate weekday schedules and shifts required
•    Job is 80% active, 20% sedentary, with 98% indoors and 2% outdoors
•    Lift and carry 50 pounds, as well as, push and pull 125 pounds
•    May work at heights (>20 feet) and be able to bend, kneel and stoop


 AA degree in relevant field preferred
