Job Summary

The Region Engine Service Manager (RESM) is an exciting and challenging position supporting the PACCAR MX Engine platform. In this role you will assist technicians within the Kenworth dealership network to diagnose engine and aftertreatment systems. A high level of experience with these systems is needed. The successful candidate will be able to clearly explain the interworking and diagnosis of the platform. Your clients will range from Technicians, Service Managers, Directors of Service, Dealer Principals, Customers, Industry Peer Groups, and internal PACCAR stakeholders. This will include audiences ranging from one-on-one scenarios up to full auditoriums. The candidate will be comfortable promoting the engine and its benefits over the competition. The candidate will act diligently while representing the PACCAR in a positive manner in all encountered scenarios.


This position will be remote.  The ideal candidate will be based in Eastern Canada, but open to remote work anywhere within the country.


Here's what you will do in this role:

  • Accepts ownership and manages all MX engine issues that arise within their region

  • Contact person for dealers in the region when they have questions or concerns working with DAVIE or navigating through RMI

  • Track all open TCS365 cases in the region to ensure timely communication and action plan exists to get truck back in service

  • Act as first contact for Kenworth DSMs when they need further assistance or information pertaining to any MX issues in their district

  • Coordinate between Vehicle Support Center and Engineering/PTC/ADG when higher level assistance is required

  • Communicate resolution path to dealer/customer

  • Travel to the truck in question when hands on assistance is required

  • Follow case through until issue is resolved

  • Ensure that all resolved TCS365 cases are closed out in a timely fashion and all pertinent information is included in the case notes

  • Disseminate diagnostic and repair information to the DSMs, Dealers, and customers to resolve product issues

  • Report on new emerging issues.  Assist Engineering in investigation and resolution

  • Assist Engineering with tool development as needed

  • Responsible for dealer/customer presentations that support the MX product

  • Will be the primary company representative at regional trade shows and truck association meetings

  • Track and ensure that each full service dealer location within the region maintains the required number of MX certified technicians to support the product in their AOR

  • Conduct PACCAR engine, aftertreatment, fuel system and DAVIE/RMI diagnostic training to dealer technicians and customers as needed

  • This individual will not have any dealer location responsibilities but will stay focused 100% on support of the MX engine

  • 30% to 50% travel required, often on short notice


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or automotive technology preferred

  • Bilingual (French & English)

  • Min. 5+ years of industry-related experience

  • Strong communication skills

  • Proficient in Excel and Power Point

  • Proficiency in industry diagnostic systems preferred

  • Mechanical aptitude with strong background in electronics
