Division Information

Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in Algona, WA. Dynacraft performs assembly, light manufacturing and distribution for PACCAR truck plants and the aftermarket. For more than forty years, Dynacraft has provided high quality components, subassemblies and specialized services. Dynacraft’s manufacturing facilities are located in Algona, WA, Louisville, KY, and McKinney, TX.

Requisition Summary

The purpose of PACCAR’s Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is to assure that purchased parts, components, and assemblies meet PACCAR drawings and specifications prior to the supplier’s shipment of production parts to PACCAR facilities.

The PPAP Process includes mechanical inspections of parts and documentation of manufacturing and testing procedures

The PPAP process contains components of first article inspection or first piece setup inspection that some industries use:

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • ·         Conduct dimensional inspection of PPAP sample components using surface plate inspection tools and portable CMM (ROMER Absolute Arm & PC-DMIS)
  • .         Evaluation of testing results and supporting documentation of PPAP samples to determine conformance to PACCAR PPAP requirements.
  • ·         Creation and maintenance of PPAP files and documentation in support of PACCAR PPAP guidelines.
  • ·         Provide technical assistance to supplier, customers, and internal personnel for understanding of PPAP requirements.
  • ·         Verify lower component supplier PPAP approval status and generate, track, inspect and approve PPAP requests for unapproved lower level components.
  • ·         Create files for customer PPAP’s and lower level component PPAP’s
  • ·         Request Bill Of Material (BOM), Supplier Request for Drawing Change (SRDC), and part number loading
  • ·         Submit PPAP documentation to PACCAR using PPS
  • ·         Other duties as assigned.
  • ·         Provide analytical support to Dynacraft process owners regarding product / process quality issues
  • ·         Identify and facilitate improvement initiatives utilizing customer/internal feedback to help identify opportunities to resolve quality/production issues
  • ·         Ensure all Dynacraft standards are maintained.
  • ·         Participate in developing and executing Quality department goals and objectives

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent communication skills along with proactive thought
  • Ability to read engineering blueprints and technical specifications and translate into part and process requirements.
  • Understanding of GD&T inspection methods and equipment.
  • Must demonstrate ability to use a wide variety of mechanical inspection equipment, including CMM’s for inspection of mechanical assemblies. (Including inspection plan programming)
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office Software
  • Preferred experience with SAP and/or PACCAR Purchasing System (PPS), and familiarity with Minitab or equivalent
  • Strong organizational, written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several projects at one time. Requires the ability to prioritize work load based on changing goals and focus.
  • Five (5) years manufacturing experience or minimum of Three (3) years directly related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate team efforts and work under minimal supervision

    Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related field required.
  • Experience with ISO 9000/9001/14000/14001, TS16949, or QS 9000 QMS’s in a related capacity
  • At least 2 years manufacturing experience


  • Project management experience
  • SAP experience
  • Lean / Six Sigma training/experience
  • Minimum two years’ experience in mechanical inspection
  • Background of working with truck manufacture, truck service, or work with truck component manufactures
