Division Information

Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in McKinney, TX. Dynacraft is a diversified global manufacturer of PACCAR medium and heavy-duty truck parts sold under the Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates. For more than fifty years, Dynacraft has provided the company’s truck manufacturing divisions and PACCAR Parts service parts division with high quality components, subassemblies, and specialized services. Dynacraft has manufacturing facilities in Louisville, KY, and McKinney TX.

Requisition Summary

The primary responsibility for the Sales Engineer is to identify new Dynacraft business opportunities.  This person will need to be knowledgeable of the Dynacraft manufacturing process and product lines to identify projects that will grow revenue and profit for Dynacraft.  The position reports to the Director of Business and Product Development. The successful candidate will work directly with Customers, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Operations, Materials, Engineering, and the Quality to meet Dynacraft goals. This position will be based in McKinney, TX.

 

 

Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Responsible for coordinating activities with customers to identify new business opportunities that that maximize PACCAR profit through cost reduction, margin capture, or growth of profitable product line.

  • Build effective relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Dynacraft, Peterbilt, and Kenworth Division engineering teams, PACCAR Purchasing, External Suppliers and Truck Division Operations to ensure program success.
  • Investigate new product or supply chain opportunities to drive Dynacraft growth.
  • Develop business cases including financial justification for new business opportunities.
  • Proactively coordinate change in project scope, identify potential crises, and create/mange contingency plans.
  • Communicate program status and issues to senior management and other stakeholders through reports and presentations as requested.
  • Support and provide feedback during technical, concept, and design reviews.
  • Coordinate with Product Planning, Manufacturing, and PACCAR Parts to understand major program requirements.
  • Identify projects that fit within the customer product plans.
  • Identify new manufacturing strategies that support customer requirements.
  • Support development of new project / program scope.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Product and/or Automotive Manufacturing knowledge gained through a minimum of ten years of related experience, preferable in a manufacturing environment.
  • Self-motivated leader, with the ability to handle multiple tasks with varying schedules and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to manage and work through ambiguity.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Six Sigma trained desired.
  • Creative problem solver with strong application of process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Previous experience managing projects desired.
  • Approximately 50-75% travel.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business Administration.
  • Master’s degree preferably in Business Administration.
