Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquarted in Algona, WA.  Dynacraft is a diversified global manufacturer of commercial vehicle parts and components sold under the Kenworth and Peterbilt brands.  For more than forty years, Dynacraft has provided the company's truck divisions and PACCAR Parts distribution centers with high quality components, subassemblies, and specialized services.  Dynacraft has production facilities in Algona, WA, Louisville, KY and McKinney, TX. 

Requisition Summary

The Plant Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety programs at the Dynacraft Texas plant and working with safety managers at other sites to develop Division level programs. The ideal candidate is proactive, has experience in a manufacturing environment, and effectively collaborates with leadership to develop a culture of behavioral-based safety. This position is based in McKinney, Texas and reports to the Plant HR Manager.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Manage a comprehensive safety program including prevention, inspection, investigation, and recording of incidents and related costs. Detect hazardous conditions, track and measure results and recommend as well as implement appropriate actions.
  • Provide leadership, training, and analysis to leadership, managers, and employees in the identification of potential hazards and accident prevention.
  • Oversee the location's OSHA and worker’s compensation program, including investigations, reporting, and collection of information for claims management.
  • Develop and implement preventive or corrective measures relating to processes, machinery layout, plant ergonomics, and/or personal protective equipment.
  • Proactively streamline safety processes and automate as appropriate.
  • Oversee the various safety committees ensuring effectiveness
  • Administer and facilitate safety training.
  • Develop, maintain and communicate the plants emergency programs; ensuring proper training and certification.
  • Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. Coordinate with OSHA inspectors, fire department inspections, and PACCAR insurance carriers.
  • Assist in basic first aid treatment and other duties as needed.
  • Benchmark safety programs with other PACCAR locations as well as suppliers and PACCAR peer companies.
  • Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Five (5) years of closely related industrial safety and health experience
  • Demonstrative multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Must be able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health, or related field required.
  • Master's Degree in applicable field preferred.
  • Professional certification in safety, industrial hygiene or hazardous materials preferred.
