Job Functions / Responsibilities

The Maintenance Unit Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating a Maintenance Team in the support of production operations.

  • Proficiently lead a team of journeyman mechanics and electricians by assigning work/tasks, developing/training subordinates, initiating personnel actions such as promotions transfers, and vacation scheduling and other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for furthering the Company interests in safety, quality, controlling costs and personnel development.
  • Plans, organizes, assigns and coordinates work to achieve production schedules.
  • Initiates and recommends appropriate personnel actions regarding new employee selection, promotions, training, and employee counseling.
  • Personal commitment to quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Investigates and initiates work method, process control, layout and operating improvements, coordinating such efforts with appropriate support functions.
  • Other duties as assigned, including administrative responsibilities, i.e., completing reports, preparing schedules, etc

Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in McKinney, TX. Dynacraft is a diversified global manufacturer of PACCAR medium- and heavy-duty truck parts sold under Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates. For more than forty years, Dynacraft has provided the company’s truck divisions and PACCAR Parts service parts division with high quality components, subassemblies, and specialized services. Dynacraft has production facilities in Louisville, KY and McKinney, TX.

Qualifications

  • At least two years demonstrated leadership in front line supervisory, lead, or equivalent experience, preferably in a production environment.
  • Desired mechanical or electrical aptitude training/experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to initiate and lead change through continual process improvements.
  • Ability to operate and actively participate in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop effective work teams and solve problems. 
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and process improvements.
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies, i.e..  Six Sigma, Lean Management a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Areas of study preferred are Business, Manufacturing, or other technical degree.
