Division Information

PACCAR Parts is the global provider of aftermarket parts and services to support Kenworth, Peterbilt, DAF and TRP dealers around the world.  This includes 18 distribution centers globally that support 2,200 dealerships and over 1,000,000 customers.  Aftermarket support includes world class customer centers that deliver industry leading uptime in conjunction with our outstanding supply chain that delivers record levels of inventory availability for dealers and customers. 

Requisition Summary

The PACCAR Summer Internship Program provides an opportunity to learn about PACCAR through a work assignment in Distribution Operations.  Each intern will be integrated into division and department meetings, activities and events to ensure an understanding of PACCAR.  You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our dynamic organization, while enhancing your resume.  At the end of your internship, you have the opportunity to present your accomplishments to your fellow interns and senior management.  PACCAR interns have a great deal of visibility within our company.  Don’t miss out on an exciting opportunity!
 
The position will be located in Lancaster, PA

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Managing a continuous improvement project using Six Sigma methodology as determined by the Continuous Improvement Manager for the duration of the summer.  Within the scope of that project, they must:
  • Exhibit the ability to not only react to change productively but lead it
  • Learn Distribution Associate & Supervisor job functions associated with the project
  • Establish and control procedures to meeting production schedules, recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating efficiency and safe working conditions
  • Maintain excellent communication of project progress to Continuous Improvement Manager and PDC Manager
  • Be proactive in promoting positive working relationships with all employees, and effectively communicating company policies and guidelines and procedures.

 

The intern will provide benefit for PACCAR Parts as well as develop and demonstrate their skill set for potential future employment.

  • Ability to work well alone or with others
  • Strong PC Skills including experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Education

Currently a college undergraduate or graduate student in Business, Management, Accounting or any other Industrial related major.
