Requisition Summary:

The Kenworth marketing team is seeking a skilled and motivated manager to join our fast-paced organization.

The Vocational Marketing Manager will be responsible for driving the go-to-market activities for the vocational product and will serve as the go between with engineering, product planning, and sales to ensure the product meets and exceeds our customers’ expectations.  The manager will also have direct input to trade show planning and sales training.

This role is critical to the growth of Kenworth sales and marketing! We need a hybrid professional who can maintain a technical understanding of Kenworth and competitors’ vocational products while also understanding the pulse of the market, how to effectively sale the product, and develop insightful marketing campaigns to drive market growth.

 

Responsibilities:

Go-to-Market Strategy
Manage the go-to-market vocational strategy. Serve as the voice of the customer in conversations with Program Management and Sales Engineering to drive important product initiatives and ensure customer goals and market share are considered at every point in the

roadmap. Assist Program Management in securing customers for pilot programs.

Trade Show and Right Choice Management
Support trade show and right choice event planning and logistics. Attend vocational trade shows, engage with customers, and assess competitor booths and products.

Sales Training Strategy
Support Kenworth’s sales training program as a Subject Matter Expert. Lend your voice to the programming to ensure training is consistent with sales strategy and overall business goals.

Market Intelligence
Be at the forefront of the latest products and technologies.  Analyze market and customer data to develop regional and segment marketing strategies. Initiate marketing actions to influence sales outcomes that achieve division sales and margin goals.

Leadership
Develop a strong vision for vocational market share growth and be prepared to go the extra mile to ensure that your goals become a reality. Present to various audiences, including division management, customers, dealers, internal departments and other PACCAR entities to communicate actions needed to ensure success.

  • A candidate for this position must have an ability to prioritize tasks, understand business goals, oversee multiple small projects at once, respond to inquiries in a timely manner, be flexible and welcoming to change, and be self-motivated.
  • The candidate should have strong communication skills and act as a gateway to efficient and effective cross-functional collaboration.

  • The candidate must additionally demonstrate strong leadership qualities and ability to influence both cross-functional teams and top management.
  • Candidate must be capable of presenting sales and marketing initiatives to the leadership team.
  • Experience
  • The candidate must be able to demonstrate direct or comparable experience in managing a creative team.
  • The candidate must have managed a project and program where he/she showed meticulous attention to detail, high organization, and deadline driven.
  • Ideal candidate will be familiar with one or more of the following:
  • Kenworth products
  • Program management
  • Trade show event planning
  • Product Marketing

General:

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Masters’ Degree a plus.
  • Travel is required with a minimum of 40% of the time. Availability to travel more is a plus.
