Requisition Summary

Kenworth is seeking energetic, independent engineers with interest in creating, defining, and launching the next generation of industry-leading trucks.  Scope of work includes analysis of potential new product designs, evaluation of customer requirements, and definition of vehicle and function level architecture. Defining control function requirements, and validation of vehicle level improvements to ensure superior customer satisfaction.


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Identify use cases for advanced automotive technologies to define functional requirements.
  • Collect requirements by interacting with internal and external stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Build, maintain and utilize vehicle control function architecture diagrams.
  • Champion development of vehicle features and functions with cross-functional teams.
  • Track the project through design & testing phases, provide support for troubleshooting and validation activities.
  • Prioritization of projects to fulfill the desired launch dates.



Qualifications & Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors program in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Demonstrated skills using engineering tools and an interest in automotive technologies.
  • Must be proactive with excellent organizational, time management and communicational skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts or data in a simple-yet-accurate manner required.
  • Experience with Mathematical modeling systems such as: Matlab/Simulink, AVL Cruise, GT Power, etc preferred.
