Job Summary

Are you passionate about innovations in the field of clean transportation? Have experience or training as a mechanical or electrical engineer in EV technologies? If so, then a career in Kenworth’s Zero Emissions Department as a BEV Systems Engineer is for you! Within this team of highly talented and dedicated engineers, you will find yourself researching, defining, developing, validating, and implementing the latest technologies for all of PACCAR’s global vehicle divisions. This position will take a system-level optimization approach and require collaboration within a global cross-functional and multicultural team. PACCAR is focused on developing zero-emissions vehicles product line and this is a chance to take a lead role in delivering that product roadmap.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide direction for vehicle-level architecture to meet the demands of high-performance BEV systems
  • Seek continuous learning opportunities to stay current on emerging technologies
  • Development or support of various BEV technology roadmap
  • Define system level technical requirements that meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Collaborate with other system owners to define component level requirements necessary to meet vehicle level targets
  • Develop verification and validation plans to ensure customer requirements and reliability targets are being achieved
  • Provide written and verbal updates to local and global key stakeholders
  • Travel domestically and internationally

 

Qualifications / Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in new product development, require
  • Experience with system-level requirements development, component selection, integration, performance, and validation required 
  • Overall product knowledge required: Electric Vehicle Systems, High Voltage Componentry, Lithium-Ion Battery Systems
  • Passion for working on next-generation electrified commercial transportation
  • Demonstrated prior design experience: project management, and/or design lead experience preferred
  • Self-directed with excellent analysis and engineering judgment
  • Fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment by considering other perspectives and welcomes differing points of view
  • Demonstrated prominent levels of initiative, especially with innovation
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, while managing multiple priorities
  • Comfortable proposing radical ideas and challenging the status quo
  • Excellent work/time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
