Job Summary

Do you like working on projects from initial concept all the way through to production launch? Does the opportunity to develop the next-generation assembly processes for zero-emissions vehicles, and autonomous vehicles excite you? The successful candidate will join a team of high-performing professionals who pride themselves on developing innovative processes, setting industry standards for quality, providing cost-effective designs, manage the development and implementation of plans for new product development projects. 



  • Lead a Team of Advanced Manufacturing Engineers in the development of New Product Development Projects to support a variety of opportunities that could include New Engines and Emissions, Battery Electric, Fuel Cell, Autonomous Vehicle platforms, Outerbody and Hoods project to complete the conversion to 2.1m Cabs.  
  • Provide Simultaneous Manufacturing Engineering input to Design Engineering and coordinate plant input and feedback.
  • Develop Manufacturing and Operations functional requirements documents and validation plans for software and hardware testing and programming. 
  • Complete all necessary Tollgate Manufacturing Documents per the approved schedule.
  • Develop tooling and equipment budgets including prototype tooling, supplier-based component, assembly, and inspection tooling, plant assembly tooling, and equipment.
  • Assist in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and lead efforts in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), where appropriate.
  • Complete DFSS, Black Belt, and Quality projects at the Manufacturing Plants or Suppliers.
  • Review and develop new technologies for manufacturing, assembling, programming, and testing components and systems.
  • Supervises the acquisition and implementation of project-related capital tooling assets.


Skills / Competencies

  • B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • A Master’s degree in a related area, MBA, or PE license is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability gained through 7-10 years of progressively complex Simultaneous Engineering and Plant Engineering assignments
  • Training in DFSS and Advanced Quality Systems is desirable.
  • Detailed knowledge of product tooling, manufacturing, and assembly processes. 
  • Knowledge of the software development V-cycle is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven team leadership skills.
  • High energy level, goal-oriented individual.
  • Excellent organizational, PC, and project management skills. 
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed, occasionally on short notice.
