Job Functions / Responsibilities:

The Senior Accountant reports to the General Accounting Manager and is responsible for maintaining Fixed Assets, and Tooling assets, driving the annual budget and monthly forecast preparation and related forecast to actual analysis for Admin departments. The position interacts frequently with department managers, Division Accounting teams and Division Controller. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Maintain sub ledgers for Fixed Assets and Tooling Assets in SAP; work closely with Engineering team to prepare and post accrual entries for capital projects at month-end; prepare monthly capital project spending reports and review with Engineering team and Division Controller; reconcile capital project system vs SAP for project spending
  • Prepare quarterly tooling factor study with input from Engineering and Marketing team and present to Management
  • Facilitate monthly forecast meetings with Admin department managers and upload data to forecast system
  • Perform actual to forecast analysis as part of month-end close and record accrual journal entries in SAP
  • Process monthly intercompany cross-charges
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations for Fixed Assets, Tooling Assets, prepaid, property taxes and other assigned accounts
  • Prepare quarterly reporting packages and government surveys; coordinate with other Plants and accounting teams to submit 10-Q supporting packages to Corporate
  • Work closely with external auditors to prepare supporting schedules for Fixed Assets, Tooling Assets and other items as assigned
  • Participate in documentation and testing for Sarbanes Oxley
  • Perform other special projects and tasks as assigned
  • Ability to communicate complex accounting issues at an executive level

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong computer skills in Excel (i.e. pivot tables, macros, charts and graphs) and data analytic tools (i.e. tableau, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivated, handling multiple tasks and shifting priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Attention to detail with the ability to understand the “big picture”

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting or work experience

Desired Education/Experience:

  • Big 4 public accounting experience
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing
