Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Primary focus would be design and development of cab/sleeper structure and interior related components and exploring relevant new technologies.
  • Integral member of cross functional team in the design and development of truck programs.
  • Integral collaboration with industrial design team.
  • Utilize Creo/Pro-E to create optimized part and assembly of moderate to complex designs requiring independent judgment.
  • Work with internal and external organizations to validate the designs.
  • Utilize PACCAR and industry systems to manage the product implementation process, track costs, and support new product introductions.
  • Work closely with multiple PACCAR divisions.


Qualifications & Skills


  • BSME required; Masters degree
  • 2+ years industry-related background in the design and specification of heavy-duty trucks
  • Knowledge of Creo/Pro-E or other solids modeling software required.
  • Knowledge in designing parts/assemblies in multiple material types a plus (composites (SMC, DCPD, RTM), injection molding, stampings, sheetmetal, etc).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  •  Competency in the use of personal computer software including project management tools, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Solid understanding in use of Design for Six Sigma and Six Sigma techniques.
  • Willingness to learn and make use of new engineering processes and techniques and be resourceful in solving complex technical problems.
  • Past experience in product development and new product implementation necessary.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Candidates should have a willingness to grow personally and professionally and be results oriented.
  • P.E. certificate desirable
