Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and development of heavy-duty truck powertrains.
  • Manage powertrain-related projects “cradle-to-grave” for areas of the truck including emissions aftertreatment, transmissions, drivelines, fuel systems, and other engine related components.
  • Complete work related to engineering goals, regulation changes, Plant Liaison Requests (PLRs), field service, and OAR support. 
  • Gain breadth of knowledge in the project release process by working with internal and external organizations.
  • Utilize Pro/E to create optimized parts and assembly of complex designs.
  • Work with internal and external organizations to validate the designs.
  • Work through the Product Creation Process utilizing Tollgate to manage projects, report updates and put Six Sigma skills to use regularly.

Qualifications & Skills

  • BSME required; Masters degree in business or engineering and P.E. certificate are preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in the specification and design of complex automotive components required; proficient in the use of Pro/E or other similar solid modeling software.
  • Past experience working onsite at a PACCAR facility is preferred
  • Competence in the use of personal computer software such as word processing, database, and spreadsheets
  • Familiarity with project management methods and tools
  • Candidate should be willing to make use of engineering processes and techniques and be resourceful in solving complex technical problems
  • Requires independent judgment and effective project management.
  • Ability to manage costs, time and resources; strong communication skills.
