Requisition Summary

The New Product Department is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to manage and lead the Medium Duty Interiors group within the department. The Engineering Supervisor would manage all aspect of cab interior design work. Including, but not limited to, leading program reviews, budget and cost tracking, inter-divisional project lead, and managing program timelines. Ideal candidates would have a strong leadership background in managing candidates and leading department and division goals.

 


Job Functions / Responsibilities

Provide leadership to New Product Development Medium Duty Interiors team in all areas of responsibility, including, but not limited to:

·        Product Development and Improvement projects.

·        Support, as required, to Plants, Corporate Purchasing, Sales and Marketing, Product Planning, Customer Service and Operations.

·        Performance to meet schedule, budget, cost, weight and reliability, tollgate, design and validation requirements for all projects.

·        Staff development, including writing and administration of Performance Appraisal Reviews (PAR) and Individual Development Plans (IDP), and team building.

·        Proportioning of staff workload, and cooperating with other section supervisors to maintain high level of section throughput.

·        Overseeing the use of appropriate Six Sigma and other design and analysis tools.

·        Review and approval of SRDC’s, ECN’s, drawings, EDP’s, OAR’s, REI’s, deviations, and other similar documents.

·        Assisting Section Manager or Senior Staff, as requested, in the development of section capital and expense budgets, and staffing requirements.


Qualifications & Skills

·        BSME or equivalent engineering degree required; Master’s Degree and PE license preferred.  

·        5+ years of design experience. 

·        PACCAR/manufacturing plant experience desirable. 

·        Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and manage multiple priorities is a must, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

·        Previous supervisory and/or lead experience preferred. 

·        Extensive knowledge of Pro-E techniques.
