JOB OVERVIEW:

 

Manage the strategies, actions, personnel and budget of the Kenworth marketing communications department in order to maximize Kenworth’s marketing exposure. 

 

JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manage advertising initiatives, including working with ad agency to develop advertising content for print and digital channels, presenting ad concepts to Kenworth management for approval, and developing new and innovative messaging campaigns for presenting Kenworth to customers.
  • Manage social media initiatives, including messaging objectives, content creation, user tracking and trends, and user growth across Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram channels.
  • Manage P.R. initiatives, including development of P.R. content, managing press conferences and other press editor events, and managing network of editors at trade publications to maximize share of voice.
  • Manage website and app, including managing vendors, updating content regularly, and implementing actions to periodically refresh website and app design.
  • Manage photography and graphic design initiatives, including developing new visual strategies for presenting Kenworth products, managing Kenworth’s image library, and managing photography and CGI vendors.
  • Manage print collateral initiatives, including brochures, sell sheets, paint fan decks, calendars, and other types of collateral.
  • Manage video development initiatives, including storyboard development, script development and review, managing video production vendors, and directing on-site activities during video shoots.
  • Manage event and trade show initiatives, including managing approximately 30 events and trade shows during year, working with cross-functional team to manage tasks related to event / show management, and managing event / show budgets.
  • Manage trade show assets, including signage, powertrain displays, tour trailer, and other marketing properties that are exhibited at trade shows and other events.
  • Manage Kenworth’s trademark and branding initiatives, including Kenworth’s identity guidelines, trademark applications, and branding opportunities.  
  • Manage merchandising program, including working with merchandising vendor to develop annual merchandising plan and working with truck model vendors.
  • Manage service marketing initiatives, including PremierCare Gold program, warranty marketing, and other Kenworth service marketing programs.
  • Manage marketing communications department, including event manager, digital marketing manager, P.R. manager, and creative services manager, in order to achieve department objectives.
  • Manage marketing communications department’s multi-million dollar budget to maximize marketing exposure within budgetary constraints.
  • Other responsibilities as required.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, advertising or business administration required.
  • Master’s Degree in marketing, advertising or business administration preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, P.R., or advertising.
  • Knowledge about Kenworth products, competitors and the North American truck industry is preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Up to 25% travel required.
