<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Kenworth is expanding its Powertrain team to include integration of electrified powertrains as well as advanced diesel powertrains. We are looking to add engineers to the team that are knowledgeable in vehicle powertrain integration and have experience or the desire to gain experience in electric powertrain design. Our ideal candidates will be motivated to contribute to a new generation of vehicles at Kenworth and PACCAR globally.


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">This position is within the Powertrain Engineering department at Kenworth. Responsibilities will include requirements definition, investigative, development, coordination, and implementation activities.  The team will interface with other teams at PACCAR developing other related systems and represent North American vehicle requirements in our global organization.


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Define requirements for, evaluate, design, and select powertrain systems appropriate for PACCAR diesel, BEV, and other alternative power source vehicles.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Define integration requirements and lead the implementation into medium and heavy duty trucks
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Lead benchmarking activities, technology evaluation, and participate in development of validation standards for responsible systems
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Drive chosen supplier partners to meet program schedules and milestones
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Support efforts with lead teams at other PACCAR divisions to ensure successful global launches PACCAR vehicles. Includes interfacing with PACCAR Technical Center, Peterbilt, DAF, and PACCAR purchasing. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Communicate results and progress to team and stakeholders on a regular basis and facilitate technology transfer between PACCAR divisions


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Qualifications / Skills

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">BSME or equivalent engineering degree required; Master's Degree and PE license preferred
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Passion and interest in working on commercial vehicle powertrains, including next generation electrified drivetrains and vehicles
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Overall product knowledge required; engine, cooling, and transmission system experience preferred
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Demonstrated prior design experience; project management, and/or design lead experience preferred
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience working within a gated product creation process desired
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Demonstrated CAD / 3D Modeling experience; Creo preferred
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience with system-level requirements development, component selection, integration, performance, and validation
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Previously demonstrated resourcefulness, strong technical knowledge, analytical capability, and communication skills.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Self-directed with excellent analysis and engineering judgement
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Collaborative nature, fosters a sense of team across groups and cultures
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Demonstrated high levels of initiative and innovation
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to perform in a fast-pace, results-oriented environment, while managing multiple priorities
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Up to 20% travel possible
