Kenworth’s Zero Emissions department is seeking an experienced Vehicle Integration Design Engineer to undertake Chassis layout and routing (H2 fuel lines, LV and HV Harness, air systems, cooling pipework and component packaging) activities.

Job Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Undertake CAD design development of the vehicle package to integrate our new Hydrogen Fuel Cell Powertrain into the Paccar group truck range

  • Own commodities and be responsible for evaluation and interpretation of vehicle and system validation activities

  • Work in a collaborative small-team environment to explore and evaluate advanced vehicle technologies

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with internal and external organizations to explore and test future technologies

  • Leverage internal product development processes and Six Sigma/DFSS skills to ensure high quality results, manage progress and report updates

  • Administer and release Engineering Change notices

  • Liaise with Manufacturing and suppliers to ensure DFM&A

  • Travel up to 10%.

 

 

Qualifications & Skills:

 

  • BSEE or equivalent engineering degree required, Masters and PE license a plus.

  • Automotive/Truck background not essential. Interested to hear from veterans and personnel from the Aeronautical, Marine, and other similar industries.

  • 3+ years design & release of components or equivalent

  • Demonstrate use of Engineering tools such as Siemens Capital, Creo, Windchill, Enovia, V5 etc.

  • Experience in product development and NPI desired

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply Design for Six Sigma and associated techniques

  • Ability to perform in a lean, fast-paced, results-oriented environment, while managing multiple priorities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to clearly present status updates

  • Willingness to learn and make use of new engineering processes and techniques and be resourceful in solving complex technical problems

  • Manufacturing plant experience advantageous
