Job Functions / Responsibilities

The Accounting Projects Manager is the primary project lead in implementing various Accounting related projects and assisting the Accounting team during month-end, quarter-end and year-end with various tasks as assigned. The position interacts frequently with department managers, Division Accounting teams, other PACCAR Division teams and Division Controller. Primary responsibilities include:


•    Assist in the development of an implementation plan for SAP NA Materials and any other SAP related modules (e.g. business requirements gathering, planning of resources, testing of system functionality, data migration, data validation, providing training, etc.).
•    Act as liaison between the business and IT in communicating business requirements for system implementations.
•    Completing ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as assigned by the Director of Accounting.
•    Improve existing month-end/quarter-end, year-end financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes to gain efficiencies in preparation, and improve effectiveness in both accuracy and explanations of changes.
•    Lead the development of KPIs and reporting dashboards to improve financial reporting to key stakeholders.
•    Lead the development of continuous monitoring systems (to detect fraud, duplicate payments, process inefficiencies, etc).
•    Perform data analysis on both operational and financial data to develop more accurate financial models and gain insight to trends and emerging issues.
•    Responsible for various monthly and year-end financial reporting and statements/schedules preparation and/or review.
•    Prepare various monthly management reporting schedules or commentary as assigned.
•    Assist with coordination and preparation of quarterly reporting packages and government surveys; coordinating with other Plants and accounting teams to submit 10-Q supporting packages to Corporate. 
•    Participate in documentation and reviewing of internal control programs including Sarbanes Oxley.
•    Work closely with internal & external auditors to prepare supporting schedules for audits.
•    Provide coverage for the General Accounting Manager or Director of Accounting as needed.
•    Perform other special projects and tasks as assigned

 

Qualifications & Skills

•    Strong analytical skills and intermediate to advanced computer skills in Excel (i.e. pivot tables, macros, charts and graphs) and data analytic tools (i.e. tableau, etc.)
•    Ability to work independently and self-motivated, handling multiple tasks and shifting priorities
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
•    Attention to detail with the ability to understand the “big picture” 
•    Ability to communicate complex accounting issues at an executive level

 

Required Education/Experience:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
•    +4 - 8 years of relevant accounting or work experience 
•    Prior ERP system implementation experience (preferably SAP)

 

Desired Education/Experience: 
•    Big 4 public accounting experience 
•    SAP experience preferred
•    CPA/CMA/MBA preferred
