Requisition Summary

 Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR Company, has an opening for a Training Design Intern to add to our Industrial Design Team in Denton, Texas.         


 Assist the Industrial Design Managers with design concepts for current and future Peterbilt exteriors and interiors ranging from theme development using all design phases from concept to scale models as requested. Responsibilities will also include creating graphics and presentation support, and research. 


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Transportation and Product Design: Styling a range of current and future Peterbilt exteriors and interiors ranging from theme development using all design phases from concept to scale models, and to support other projects as requested. This may include concept and production-based programs and projects.
  • Research: Conduct research of current and future competitive and analogous product, and other research to support both Industrial Design and Product Planning Groups as required.
  • Graphics Support: Create Posters, Presentations, Layouts, Badges, Logos, as required.
  • Modeling Studio Support: Able to execute your design or concept using traditional or modern modeling or fabrication techniques to demonstrate a design concept.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Designers, Digital Modelers, Studio Modelers, Product Planning and Program Management team members.






Skills / Competencies

Pursuit of a degree in Transportation Design or Industrial Design candidates will be considered.  Basic traditional and digital sketching and rendering skills, including but not limited to Photoshop, Painter, Wacom/Cintiq, Rhino, Modo and Bunkspeed, are preferred. Must have design acumen and good writing and verbal communication skills.
