Requisition Summary

This role will supervise and lead IT Operations directly related to factory systems including all IT equipment and software running in the assembly plant. Factory Support Supervisor/Group Lead will have interaction with and including Plant Management, Manufacturing Engineering, PACCAR ITD, ITD Vehicle Systems, PACCAR Technical Center, Plant Maintenance, and outside vendors on technologies utilized in the factory. Will direct and lead staff on daily operational activities and project assignments including resolution of incident reports, installation of software, installation of hardware, and software and hardware testing. As required, the Factory Support Supervisor/Group Lead will participate in plant model line events, and work in conjunction with PACCAR Production Systems to initiate and lead lean activities.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and lead factory and network support teams across all work shifts.
• Manage and effectively resolve incident reports and services requests that are directly related to the truck assembly line, software programming stations, fluid fill stations, electrical testing stations, and offline vehicle testing and diagnostics.
• Manage and effectively resolve incident reports and services requests related to robotic and mechanical technologies which involve product flow to and on the assembly line.
• Work with Manufacturing Engineering to implement factory enhancements, new process equipment, and new factory software systems.
• Minimize overall downtime of critical IT systems in the factory by developing and implementing proactive measures to replace failed equipment, backup software programs, document key support processes, and training of factory support staff.
• Provide leadership, coordination, direction, and focal point of contact during the absence of the site IT Operations Manager.

General Responsibilities
• Implement and adhere to PACCAR ITD Standard Policies and Procedures. As needed and when required, audit current state to required state and report findings to IT Operations Manager.
• Work closely with Local and PACCAR IT to meet operational system strategies.
• Ensure that software/hardware installations and updates are installed and tested to meet manufacturing and testing initiatives.
• Participate and assist in deployment and installation of manufacturing equipment.
• Provide guidance and support to non IT staff related to PACCAR ITD Policies and Procedures and assistance in understanding evolving technologies where applicable.
• As required, provide experience and assistance to other PACCAR sites.
• Attend local IT and Plant management weekly meetings.
• Attend project implementation meetings with plant manufacturing as required.
• As needed and directed by IT Management, provide technical support and problem resolution during off hour/weekend production.

Work Conditions
• On-call availability for 24X7 all Year.
• Vehicle Assembly Plant noise, moving fork trucks, overhead cranes, high voltage electricity, air tools, heavy vehicle movement, and mechanical
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
• Working in cramped tight spaces under and over equipment where dirt and grime are likely.
• Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.


Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
• Undergraduate degree and 10 years related work experience in an IT position.
• Microsoft Certified IT Professional Certification preferred.
• PACCAR Lean Belt Certified preferred.

Knowledge & Experience
• Previous PACCAR IT or manufacturing experience desired.
• Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft PC operating systems, Microsoft Server operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory, and Microsoft Network infrastructure.
• Technical understanding and use of structured query language – specifically Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong technical knowledge of protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Bluetooth, and 802.11x.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment such as PLC’s, Fluid Fill, Data Link Adaptors, Robotics, and software such as Rockwell, Allen Bradley, Fanuc, and MES.
• Technical understanding of commercial truck protocols such as J1939, J1708 and RP1210 compliant devices.
• Technical understanding of testing, programming and diagnostic equipment/software such as CHET, SMET, ESA, VEPS, ABSVS, CUMMINS Insite,  Caterpillar ET, Allison DOC, Eaton Service Ranger, Bendix ACOM, NEXIQ and PACCAR DAVIE.
• Highly self-motivated and directed.
