Requisition Summary

This position will maintain a reliable, secure, and efficient data communications network.  Duties include being able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation.  This position has primary responsibility for network administration at Denton Plant campus and Division Office campus.  A secondary role will include working with IT support team for factory desktops and factory equipment such as working infrastructure projects in the factory, solving factory equipment and desktop incidents.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Network Duties

  • Work with PACCAR ITD network operations to coordinate network changes and outages.
  • Maintenance, troubleshooting and administration of the production network Infrastructure which includes switch gear, cabling, etc...
  • Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades.
  • Develop functional and technical documentation, procedures, and operating guides for Network systems and appliances.
  • Assist with the development of network optimization and capacity plans to improve Network performance, security and sustainability.
  • Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
  • Work in the trouble ticket system to resolve system and customer network incidents.
  • Work in the request system to provision or enhance customer network requests.

Factory Desktop Duties

  • Work with desktop support teams to resolve factory incident reports.
  • Perform root cause analysis of problematic software and hardware.
  • Work with third party software providers and corporate IT to fulfill software and hardware requirements for desktop pc and laptops.
  • Document, review, and publish support procedures that address key IT systems and functions and processes that will be used by IT employees to install, remediate, and support desktop pcs.
  • Monitor and maintain service levels related to incident reports and service requests.
  • Participate in reviews and discussions of IT standards and procedures.
  • Perform regular audit and analysis of IT business systems linked to key indicators to insure compliancy to corporate standards. 



  • Minimum of 4 years of network support, design, implementation, and maintenance in enterprise environment.
  • Previous experience working with VOIP systems such as Cisco Call Manager.
  • Network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Fluke, Netscout, Wireshark, Whats Up Gold, and Cisco Prime.
  • Hands on experience in networking, routing, switching, and cabling.
  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired

Factory Desktop

  • Minimum of 8 years IT years’ experience in supporting desktop pcs in a distributed enterprise environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems including Windows 7 and Windows 10.
  • Enterprise experience utilizing technologies in a Microsoft domain such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Microsoft Forefront  Endpoint Protection,  Active Directory,  MS Office 2016, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft SQL Server Studio,
  • Strong understanding of following :  TCPIP, DNS, DHCP, PXE, 802.11x, Bluetooth,
  • Drive for results and demonstrate leadership in providing innovation utilizing available technologies.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

Education and Certification

  • Required:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited or equivalent institution in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • Prefer: Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification
  • Prefer: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+ Certifications
