Requisition Summary
Are you ready to make a direct impact in helping to shape our future? In this vital role, you will facilitate and author Peterbilt’s Bulletin Publications, as well as partner on cross-divisional content.
You will be responsible for field repair documents, Federal Safety and Emissions Recalls, and other information intended for Peterbilt dealer service technicians and customers. As a Senior Technical Content Specialist, you will ensure publication coordination and delivery to meet project deadlines. In addition to authoring, you will define and build chassis populations, customer data, and parts lists for bulletins using tools including Tableau and Excel.
Responsibilities Include
- Research, coordinate, and write diagnostic repair procedures, bulletins and other service information for dealers, technicians, and customers.
- Communicate with PACCAR stakeholders (Engineering, Aftersales, Production, SRT, etc.) to ensure service content and procedures align with product requirements.
- Work cross-divisionally and cross-functionally to drive accurate service bulletin information in a timely manner to meet business needs and/or compliance deadlines.
- Define vehicle populations and mailing list for field actions utilizing tools such as SQL, Tableau, Microsoft Excel, and other systems.
- Drive for results within a dynamic environment with pressing deadlines.
- Lead cross-functional/cross-divisional meetings to drive multiple complex processes to completion.
- Lead process improvements for departmental and system enhancements.
- Create cost estimates and write cost memos for senior management approval.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Up to 10% travel is to be expected for this role.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, technical writing, or a related subject.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the trucking or automotive industry, or in technical writing.
- Motivated to learn and utilize new software applications.
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail, reporting and time management skills.
- Ability to work on dynamic projects with minimal guidance.
- Must be able to work in a results-oriented environment with a diverse set of stakeholders and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Continuous improvement and learning to support the evolution of our department.
- Motivation to provide high quality technical documentation for customers and dealers.
- MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint experience.
- SQL, Tableau, etc. experience or willingness to learn.
Preferred Skills
- Technical writing experience or education.
- Project management experience.
- Engineering, truck diagnostic repair, or dealer experience.
- Broad knowledge of truck systems and components.
- Ability to influence without direct authority.
- Willingness to learn CLS (Content Lifecycle Systems), Smartsheet, XML, and HTML.
- Experience or training in Six Sigma.
