Requisition Summary

This position performs a variety of cost accounting activities under minimal supervision to ensure timely and accurate product costing.


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily and monthly analysis for plant management to use in decision making such as delivery reliability, truck hour comparisons, and product/process studies.
  • Participate in plant projects such as Kaizen events, process improvement, and cross-divisional teams to standardize best practices.
  • Record fixed asset additions, disposals, and transfers ensuring accurate recording of depreciation.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly forecasts.
  • Review and analyze capital projects prior to approval and prepare post implementation economic evaluations.

Job Functions / Responsibilities Continued

  • Assist with various audits, including financial and operational audits.
  • Ensure proper internal controls exist and perform audits to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation based on performance of interim inventories, factor reviews, and play a key role in the coordination of physical inventory.
  • Provide pertinent financial/accounting data to management.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and book month end journal entries as assigned.
  • Assist with fixed asset cycle counts.

Skills / Competencies

  • 2 - 6 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be comfortable making oral presentations to peers and management.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills required to manage various projects.
  • Deadline-driven and self-motivated.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA/CMA and Master’s degree preferred.
