Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Motors Company is looking for a Senior Engineer Accountant.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Ensure reporting of research and development activities is sufficient to maximize the available R&D tax credit from the IRS.
  • Work with Fixed Asset accountant to reconcile capital budget system to general ledger.
  • Assist in the development and review of department and program budgets.
  • Lead monthly meetings with Program Management to accurately forecast program expense.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded according to US GAAP.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly and year-end external reporting requirements.
  • Perform internal control reviews and Sarbanes-Oxley reviews as assigned.
  • Complete special projects as required, such as ad-hoc reports for senior management.

Skills / Competencies

  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be comfortable making oral presentations to peers and management.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills required to manage various projects.
  • Deadline-driven and self-motivated.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.

CPA/CMA and Master's Degree preferred.
