Requisition Summary

Do you want to help shape Peterbilt’s future products?  The Vehicle Integration team is looking for a Requirements Engineer with interest in creating, defining, and launching the next generation of industry leading trucks.  Scope of work includes analysis of potential new product designs, evaluation of customer requirements, and definition of vehicle and system level targets, defining control and HMI function requirements, and validation of vehicle level improvements.  By engaging early in the product development processes to coordinate new program definition and ensure superior customer satisfaction.  This is an opportunity to use your interpersonal skills and engineering knowledge to add direction for future Peterbilt and PACCAR major programs.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Product Planning to understand major program Book of Wishes and identify all customer requirements which cascade into design requirements
  • Collect requirements by interacting with customers and cross-functional teams to define vehicle functional requirements
  • Design and build concept prototypes to verify and elicit requirements
  • Document and communicate functional and design requirements
  • Conduct significant global interaction with PTC, PACCAR Embedded, PACCAR Silicon Valley, Kenworth, and DAF teams to deliver common and cost-efficient solutions PACCAR-wide
  • Support and provide feedback during Technical, Concept, and Design Reviews

Skills / Competencies

  • Experience in modeling and simulation of dynamic systems, preferably automotive background
  • Experience in User Interaction (UI) or User Experience (UX)
  • Strong technical writing skills and documentation
  • Knowledge of Scrum or Agile frameworks
  • Experience with Business Analysist, Requirements Engineering, or Design requirements
  • Requires independent judgment and effective decision making skills
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Creative, quality and results-driven work ethic with the ability to learn on the fly and adapt to change


Bachelor’s or graduate degree required, preferably in STEM field.
