PACCAR Purchasing is responsible for providing procurement leadership, strategy and coordination for PACCAR’s worldwide divisions and subsidiaries. Our mission is to enhance PACCAR’s long-term profitability and growth. Corporate Purchasing Interns will get real world experience in day-to-day supply chain management operations, interact with various PACCAR divisions and learn dependencies between Materials, Marketing, Engineering, Information Technology, Supplier Quality, Finance and Purchasing.

 

Internship is located in Denton, TX.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• Support Commodity Managers to manage all aspects of PACCAR’s relationship with an assigned group of suppliers, including the commercial/contractual requirements with respect to total quality, technology, delivery, customer service, aftermarket support, logistics and total cost.


• Support Commodity Managers in the development, negotiation, and implementation of Commodity Strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance and enhanced product quality.


• Support Commodity Managers in Spend Analysis, Pricing Discrepancy Resolution, and Supplier Selection.

Skills / Competencies

• Excellent written/verbal communication skills

 

• PC skills - proficiency with Excel and experience with Word, Access, and PowerPoint

 

• High ethical standards


• Self-starter with ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks

 

Education

Should be entering Junior or Senior year for degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics or similar business curriculum
