Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Motors Company is looking for an experienced technology leader with a strong background in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). Peterbilt needs a person who understands engineering software tools and how these tools apply to business processes. This position will lead development and implementation of new tools and process improvements within Peterbilt’s engineering team and across PACCAR. Additionally, other technical training and support will be required related to engineering software and processes.


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Gather Voice of the Business (VOB) to develop and implement a technology roadmap to implement PACCAR’s PLM strategies to improve efficiency and reduce defects in Peterbilt’s design process.
  • Identify, develop, and implement new and updated application upgrade projects and process improvements to benefit engineering; coordinate solutions with other PACCAR divisions.
  • Gather global user community feedback related to software and process improvement opportunities.
  • Provide on-going support of engineering processes, change management, and supplier collaboration.
  • Create and maintain application procedures to ensure appropriate and efficient use of engineering technologies.
  • Communicate changes, training, and other Computer Aided Engineering aspects with a large engineering group.
  • Assist in developing business practices involving CAD (Creo Parametric) and PDM (Windchill PDMLink) system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, IT, or related field required.
  • 5-10 years technical background with Creo Parametric and Windchill Business/System Administration. 
  • Experience with product design, change management, and Internet of Things.
  • Proven ability to lead large scale change management across the entire organization.
  • Proven program management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Effectively extract user requirements and translate them to technical requirements for new and updated applications and processes.
  • Software development experience in Java and PTC ThingWorx desired.
  • Experience with Agile processes, Lean concepts, and 6-Sigma tools desired.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, IT, or related field required.
  • Advanced Degree in Engineering or MBA preferred
  • Six Sigma Certification (Lean, DMAIC, DFSS) preferred
