Requisition Summary

Design engineering position for the development and continuing production support of all vehicle HVAC systems for heavy truck. 

Duties involve working on new development programs applying engineering skill and knowledge of truck regulations, truck operation, and system performance requirements to evolve ideas from concept to implementation.  Other duties include providing engineering assistance, assembly / system design, problem resolution, training, promoting new technologies, and contributing to the overall product strategy.

Position is based in Denton, TX.  Hiring level for this position will be dependent upon education and experience.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Identify and initiate designs of a complex nature and conduct necessary research incidental to design.
  • Complete design projects through the processes of planning, concept development, calculation and design analysis, design, testing, evaluation, and implementation.
  • Demonstrate ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Manage supplier activities related to design and manufacture of components.
  • Apply knowledge of analysis (FEA and CFD)
  • Knowledge of PTC Creo and Windchill functionality.
  • Coordinate and complete projects and design efforts with other engineering groups and departments within the company.
  • Prepare engineering activity status reports and other detailed reporting as directed. 
  • Identify, prioritize, and coordinate resolution of production, production control, and Quality Assurance issues as appropriate.
  • Apply a proactive approach to defining issues and reaching early resolution and consensus.
  • Demonstrate professional and successful communication skills (verbal/written) with strong, effective interpersonal abilities.
  • Act in a professional manner in all contacts with external and internal customers.
  • Travel is required.


  • BSME or equivalent required; P.E. license desired
  • HVAC experience required; 5+ years of industry related experience.
  • Technical background in the design specification of automotive components and a strong understanding of HVAC systems, system performance, component requirements, and vehicle validation.
  • Strong proficiency in using Creo (Pro/E) or other solid modeling software required.
  • Experience in product development and product implementation with excellent Program Management skills.
  • Competency in the use of personal computer software including Microsoft Project, Word, Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Collaborates well in a team environment and able to provide design direction to other engineers
