Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Motors Company is looking for a Field Service Welder to support our customers with field repairs. The Field Service Welder will travel to customer locations across the U.S./Canada and perform field repairs to Peterbilt trucks.

 

Job Requirements 

  • Experience with welding procedures in accordance with type of work materials involved
  • Produce welds subject to X-ray analysis, magnaflux inspections, dye check or other tests
  • Adjust, and operate a variety of tools requiring close tolerance work, inspect own work for conformance with specifications, using gauges, templates, and other measuring devices
  • Pass American Welding Society certification tests written, practical exercise judged by level one or two visual inspectors, and upon passage of the first two steps a certification test judged by an outside laboratory (you do not have to be certified to apply and there will be limited training)  
  • Able to work outdoors in all types of weather and in confined areas on trucks
  • Travel up to 100% U.S. and Canada

 

Education

High school diploma or GED required, appropriate technical school training preferred or applicable work experience.  Along with the ability to pass company certification tests prior to job offer required.
