Requisition Summary

The Assistant Director of Credit and Finance’s role involves close interaction with various departments within Peterbilt and PACCAR, as well as within the Peterbilt Dealer Network. The Assistant Director of Credit and Finance will recommend PACCAR Parts credit limits for dealers, review and recommend dealer expansion requests, compile monthly dealer financial statements, and participate in releasing trucks into production. The Assistant Director is also responsible for supervising, mentoring and motivating the Invoicing Specialist.

 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

 ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF CREDIT AND FINANCE:

  • Recommend dealer truck order, parts limits and wholesale flooring line limits.
  • Develop, monitor and support the credit needs and use of credit by truck division dealers in conjunction with Dealer Development, PACCAR Parts, PACCAR Financial and PACCAR Leasing.
  • Present credit recommendations and analysis to senior management.
  • Assist dealers and others in developing financial projections.
  • Actively participate in the development of action plans and analysis designed to manage dealer risk.
  • Develop and maintain databases related to dealer financial information.
  • Follow up on issues related to dealer financial statement accuracy, timelines, and completeness.
  • Prepare standard and ad hoc reports concerning dealer financial information, sales, inventory, backlog and other credit-related information.
  • Prepare analysis for dealer contract renewals and facility proposals.
  • Prepare analysis of prospective new dealer candidates.
  • Ensure financing is available for all truck orders.
  • Confirm and facilitate the prompt payment for trucks and parts.
  • Act as back-up to the Director of Credit and Finance.
  • Participate in Best Practice benchmarking within PACCAR.
     

Qualifications & Skills

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be comfortable making oral presentations to peers and management.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and issues. Develop actions and communicate clearly to management in a timely manner.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel and Access.
  • Deadline-driven and ability to manage various projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in ambiguity and to adjust to multiple demands, and shifting priorities.
  • Confident to ask exploratory questions to fully understand processes, financial statements, and risk profiles.
  • Self-motived for continuous process improvements.

EDUCATION / TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • BS/BA Accounting/Finance Degree.
  • CPA/CMA or Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7 + years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
