Requisition Summary:

Improve performance and operation of trucks in the field by identifying issues, planning repair strategies, and performing repairs in the field for select customers.  Your work will positively improve the customer’s operation and their support of the product. Customers are located across the U.S. and Canada. You will work with multiple departments within PACCAR including Kenworth and Peterbilt Engineering, Field Service, Warranty, Production, PACCAR Parts, and PACCAR Technical Center.

This position location is flexible, but must be near a Midwest U.S. city, such as Chicago, Kansas City, Dallas, Columbus, Nashville, etc. 

Job Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Identifies customer’s trucks requiring service through remote diagnostics and Field Service input
  • Develop a repair strategy with the customer, Field Service and PACCAR Parts.  Travel to the customer to complete repairs in a way to minimize unit downtime.
  • Works closely with dealer service technicians or customer service technicians to complete work
  • Works with dealer technicians or customer service technicians to educate and reinforce best practices.
  • Provides management assistance to dealers to ensure proper customer support in accordance with Kenworth service and warranty related objectives.
  • Maintain a technical working knowledge of all engine systems including their features, advantages and benefits over competitive engines.
  • Compile and submit reports to management and Engineering teams
  • Coordinate with Dealers, Field Service, Engineering and suppliers to identify new product improvement and training opportunities.
  • This position will require approximately 75% travel, sometimes on short notice. Travel may be extended for up to two weeks on occasion.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or automotive technology preferred.
  • 2+ years of directly related experience is required
  • Personal computer skills include working knowledge of Excel, Word Processing and database management software. 
  • Ability to work independently; demonstrated experience in diesel engine systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including formal presentations in a classroom environment.
  • Familiarity with PC's and current office administration software.
  • Solid interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Poise under pressure.
  • Experience in dealer service/service management, preferably in heavy truck or automotive field, or related experience.

    Demonstrated knowledge of Kenworth truck manufacturing processes and products.
