Requisition Summary This position will be responsible for supporting future Engine model introductions utilizing Project Engineers assigned to the Assembly process Primary responsibilities will include visualization and prioritization of Project Engineering Team activities, Project Engineering Team development, high-level reporting to the management team, and strategic planning to support PEC long-term growth and future Engine model introductions.

 

Job Functions & Responsibilities

 

  • Lead a team of project engineers responsible for implementing new engine programs at the plant
  • Lead and participate in multiple simultaneous engineering efforts for new product development projects
  • Lead analysis of new product design concepts, 3D models, and drawings for manufacturability       
  • Supervise creation and effective use of project schedules and budgets for new product introduction to PEC
  • Coordinate team’s efforts with manufacturing processes for new product, including coordination of process engineering documentation (SOPs, PFMEAs, control plans, layout studies, cycle time analyses, financial analyses, etc.)
  • Specify and procure new tools, equipment, packaging, and other resources prior to new product launch
  • Manage equipment commissioning and new product trial builds    
  • Implement process changes on time and in budget for new product launch
  • Lead the creation of training/mentorship programs for all new Project Engineers in Assembly
  • Lead the development of project engineering and production standard processes and guidelines
  • Support the PEC Management Team by clearly illustrating implementation schedules and quantifying risks
  • Support Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement projects for the Project Engineering Group in Assembly
  • Initiates personnel actions including performance evaluations, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary measures in accordance with PEC values, guidelines, and procedures

 

Qualifications & Skills Required

 

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Preferred)
  • Experience with Visual Management/Project Management Tools
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and influence others
  • Ability to work within deadlines to achieve goals

 

Preferred  

 

  • 5-7 years engine manufacturing experience
  • 3-5 years of (Project) Management experience
  • Experience in a simultaneous engineering project environment
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Business Administration
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
