Requisition Summary

The PACCAR Engine Company has an immediate opening for a Quality Engineer.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Lead Six Sigma initiatives to increase Plant Safety, Quality, and Production
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis of, and Coordinate Corrective Actions for Field and Warranty Claims
  • Help create, analyze and maintain plant PFMEAs and Control Plans
  • Provide technical support for Field and Warranty issues to Field Service Managers, and PTC, and provide technical support and teaching to PEC
  • Represent PEC in matters of Field and Warranty Issues
  • Communicate PEC Field and Warranty Issues to Kenworth, Peterbilt, and Powertrain designated Division employees
  • Monthly communicate PEC Field and Warranty Issues to PEC Staff members  
  • Review Plant Engineering Request and Manufacturing concessions
  • Train Engine Builder classes
  • Manage the Quality Engineer Research projects and presentations  

Qualifications & Skills


  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Three (3) to five (5) years manufacturing/quality
  • Self-motivated team player that works well in a fast-paced environment
  • Practical knowledge and application of Six Sigma tools
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing and machining operations
  • Familiar with GD&T, SPC, CMM, part layout and measurement
  • Strong understanding of Diesel engine function
  • SAP knowledge
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office, i.e., Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Strong Excel abilities with complex formulas, graphic representation of data
  • Strong PowerPoint knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure on time sensitive issues impacting customers in the field



Strongly Preferred


  • Four year Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Excellent technical, verbal, and written skills
  • Minitab and Statistical Analysis and Black/Green Belt certification
  • Understanding of MX Engine Platform Design, Function, and Manufacturing
  • Understanding of PEC Manufacturing Process
  • Ability to use Manufacturing Plant databases
  • Utilization of Engineering part and Assembly drawings (both 2D and 3D)
  • Experience with Engine Manufacturing processes
  • Ability to perform risk analysis
  • Understanding of PFMEAs and Control Plans
  • Visual Basic experience
  • MBA or Master of Science Degree
