Requisition Summary

This position performs a variety of payroll activities under minimal supervision to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.

 
Job Functions / Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Maintain employee payroll records.  Audit data inputs, reconcile and research discrepancies.
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
  • Process employee garnishments and ensure legal compliance.
  • Process regular bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll runs.
  • Audit payroll personnel files for compliance with company policy, procedures, and authorizations.
  • Calculate daily/monthly/yearly Engine Hours, report to senior management and provide explanation for variances.
  • Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
  • Participate and support month-end closing and forecast activities.
  • Prepare and analyze assigned payroll related journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with local physical inventory counts.
  • Perform internal control reviews and Sarbanes Oxley reviews as assigned.
  • Participate in team oriented continuous improvement projects.

 
Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma required.  Associates/Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
  • 5+ years’ experience, preferably in a manufacturing or related environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
  • SAP/ERP system experience preferred.
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work with ambiguous tasks and handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
