Requisition Summary

The Material Flow Process Engineer provides process improvement support to Material Handling, Receiving, and 3rd party sequencing partners to meet material flow improvement targets as well as plant SQCDME (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale, and Environment) objectives.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Investigate, propose, and implement improvements to the facility, equipment, and processes to improve material flow process improvement projects, increase productivity, and reduce costs.
  • Lead projects to improve material warehousing efficiencies that enable more reliable and repeatable material delivery processes including generating process documentation for Material Handling processes.
  • Represent Materials and participate in supporting cost reduction, warranty reduction, Six Sigma, internal audit, Kaizen events, and workshops, along with improving part presentation to Production through kitting, sequencing, and small part tugger delivery.
  • Improve material unloading efficiencies and dock door utilization through the creation of scheduled receiving window times and other process improvements.
  • Reduce material shortages by supporting inventory accuracy improvement initiatives.
  • Working with warehouse management systems.
  • Project management for the above improvement projects including timeline and budget management.
  • Improve safety and ergonomic practices including focus on the material handling areas of responsibility.
  • Develop, propose, and implement Capital Budget projects.
  • Plan for and support material handling production implementation of new product introductions necessitated by design changes.
  • Keep customers, managers, and peers informed of work progress, activities, problems, or opportunities of which they should be aware



  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Industrial and Systems, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/tasks
  • Strong problem solving and written/verbal communication skills
  • Creative problem solving skills are critical to this position’s success.
  • Functional skills in Microsoft Office and AutoCad
  • Demonstrated use of Lean tools is a plus.


Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Industrial and Systems, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
