Requisition Summary

In this newly established role, the Director of Sustainability will provide executive leadership and accelerate PACCAR’s environmental sustainability strategy, and enhance PACCAR’s Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) profile and public disclosures.. The role will work with PACCAR senior executives to further develop PACCAR’s environmental sustainability strategy, goals and initiatives. The Director of Sustainability will gather and document ESG data from internal functions such as facilities, operations, engineering, human resources, and legal, then synthesize that data into succinct, clear communications to stakeholders such as ESG rating agencies, investors, employees, suppliers, and customers. ESG communication channels include PACCAR’s website, PACCAR ESG Reports, press releases, internal and external presentations, and third party ESG surveys such as Sustainalytics, MSCI, ISS and CDP (formerly “Carbon Disclosure Project”). Managing the CDP reporting process will require a significant annual time commitment. In addition, the position will perform other duties as assigned such as assistance with corporate communications.

 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Develop and propose impactful and sensible environmental sustainability strategies, initiatives and goals that will enhance PACCAR’s ESG profile
  • Monitor and track progress toward sustainability goals
  • Advise corporate and divisional executive teams on current and future ESG trends and best practices
  • Drive the collection, organization, and analysis of internal ESG data
  • Create effective communications, disclosures and survey responses to elevate ESG reporting across communication channels including third party survey companies such as CDP, ISS, MSCI and Sustainalytics
  • Educate internal and external stakeholders about PACCAR’s ESG practices

 

Qualifications and Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or other relevant field
  • 7-10 years of experience in a corporate environment with demonstrable leadership in ESG
  • Excellent business writing and communication skills
  • An expert understanding of each component of ESG, the various ESG ratings companies (e.g., CDP, ISS, Sustainalytics, MSCI), and the ESG reporting standards (e.g., SASB, TCFD)  
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, including the ability to draw succinct conclusions from complex data
  • Learn quickly and complete projects with a high sense of urgency, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to confidently interact with and influence senior management
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software products, especially Excel and PowerPoint
