Requisition Summary

The PACCAR Corporate Development department is responsible for analyzing mergers and acquisition opportunities, strategic planning, competitive analysis, and PACCAR Investor Relations and the PACCAR Foundation. The Business Analyst for Corporate Development prepares weekly/monthly truck industry reports for PACCAR Senior Management; monitors and reports on global economics and business environments; helps track developments of PACCAR’s main competitors; performs ongoing global truck market research and analysis; and assists in evaluating growth opportunities including mergers & acquisitions and other strategic initiatives.

 

This individual also provides support to Investor Relations and the PACCAR Foundation. Investor Relations support includes reviewing equity research reports, identifying trends in equity research and media reports about PACCAR, analyzing interactions with investors and assisting with targeting analysis to find new investors or increase the shares held of existing investors. PACCAR Foundation support includes administration of foundation grant requests, interaction with nonprofits, and assisting in the preparation for Foundation board of directors’ meetings, which includes analyzing grant activity.

 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and publish a weekly summary of significant events in our industry
  • Prepare the weekly PACCAR Orders, Build and Backlog report and the weekly Plant Production report
  • Prepare monthly truck industry reports for Senior Management and others
  • Research and complete advanced analytics on competitors and worldwide truck markets on an ongoing basis
  • Use external data sources to perform market, industry and investor relations analysis (including IR Insight, FactSet, Polk/IHS Global Insight, ACT Research, LexisNexis, Dismal Scientist)
  • Participate in department projects through research, analysis, and assistance in the preparation of reports, presentations, or other deliverables
  • Support the PACCAR Foundation, including managing grant requests and assisting in the preparation of Board meeting materials
  • Support Investor Relations, including reviewing and analyzing equity research about PACCAR on an ongoing basis, analyzing interactions with investors and assisting with targeting analysis to find new investors or increase the shares held of existing investors.
  • Support the Corporate Development department in evaluating growth opportunities including mergers & acquisitions and other strategic initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Interest in PACCAR and its competitors’ products and markets
  • Understanding of accounting, finance, and business strategy concepts
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, including the ability to draw succinct conclusions from complex data
  • Strong work ethic; complete projects with a high sense of urgency, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Excellent business writing and communication skills
  • Maturity to interact with all levels of management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software products, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in a corporate environment

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
